Hair Care Tips
Give your hair the full treatment
Say no to bad hair days, treat your hair the way it deserves and let yourself shine. Hair is pretty tough stuff and can handle considerable abuse, but it does have its limits Over time the condition of your hair will diminish and the longer it is the more care it needs. Your locks will take being coloured, stretched, curled and all sorts of styling manoeuvres — all of which are at the expense of the condition of your hair. But this doesn't have to be the case!
If you want your hair to still carry a shine and have a healthy bounce despite colouring and styling then treatments are a must. By understanding your hair and knowing what's possible with hair treatments you'll be able to save the day in a matter of minutes.
At O'Hair Design we recommend you have a leave-in treatment with each colour service. This will not only help maintain the health of your hair following the chemical application but also enhance the colour and shine.
The product suggested to maintain your hair at home will depend on the type and condition of your hair. Chemically altered, curly, thick or fine hair will all require different products.
Your stylist will recommend the appropriate home hair care regime for your hair from our KMS and Sebastian range of products.
At O'Hair Design we see it as our responsibility to not only colour, cut and style your hair but also to help you obtain and maintain the very best condition for your hair.
Ten Top Tips
10 ways to get a head of the rest
- Use good quality products. Superior shampoo, conditioner and regular treatments are the only way to have great looking shiny tresses.
- Have salon treatments and use take-home treatment products. Depending on the condition of your hair, do weekly or fortnightly treatments.
- Protect your hair from the elements. If you're outside a lot use a UV protector on your hair.
- Don't rub your hair with a towel. Towel drying tangles your hair and can cause breakages and frizziness from the friction.
- Wrap your washed hair in a towel or hood. This will absorb most of the moisture quickly and easily.
- Keep a wide-toothed comb in the shower. After conditioning use the comb to remove tangles.
- Have your hair cut every five weeks. If you delay, the ends could split and you'll lose more length.
- Trust your hairdresser. If they suggest products then know that it is good advice.
- Comb the ends of your hair first. Work your way from the ends up to the scalp to prevent breakage.
- Get advice about how to use styling aids. Hairdressers are hair professionals and they're there to help you.
